Welding students from the Carroll County Area Technology Center excelled at the Logan Cooper Cutting Classic in Grant County recently. Ten of the top 25 were from the ATC. The results include: Lyric McKinney, second place; Alexis Molina, fourth place; Dillan Human, fifth place; Logan Perdue, sixth place; Houston Parker, tied for seventh place; Celia Tuttle, tied for eighth place; and Helena Guy, Christian Avila and Dawson Schluter tied for ninth place. The welders raced to see who can cut through steel the fastest with an acetylene torch. The competition is held annually in honor of a Grant County welding student who passed away in 2017.
